Win a Free Blog from Blogging Startup!
That’s right. Win the very first Blogging Startup contest and you will be the proud owner of a brand spanking new 2008 blog. This is a new blog that will be started just for you, and I’ll pay the cost and help promote your blog. Here’s a list of what you will receive:
- Custom domain name (you choose the name)
- Six months free hosting (~ $50 value)
- Assistance with initial WordPress installation (including theme and plugins)
- Blog review on Blogging Startup
- Two months free advertising on any Blog in the Coryan Network
Even if you already have a blog, here’s an opportunity to find another niche topic. Or, just use the blog as a test site for new themes and plugins. You could even offer the blog as a contest on your own site. Be creative, it could be fun.
And now for the various fun ways to enter. Each of the following activities is a way to enter the contest. The number of entries earned is listed after each activity. You may enter as many times as you want, except as noted below.
- Post about the contest prior to March 7th. (10 entries, 150 word minimum)
- Post a review of Blogging Startup. (10 entries, 250 word minimum)
- Subscribe to the Blogging Startup RSS feed. Current subscribers qualify; just leave me a comment saying you’re subscribed. (3 entries)
- Leave a relevant comment on any post. However, simply announcing that you’ve subscribed or blogged will not earn extra points. So write comments that share opinions, create dialogue, or start a fight…just make it relevant. (1 entry for each comment)
- Add Blogging Startup to your blogroll. (6 entries)
And here are a couple more fun ways to enter. Earn one entry for each correct answer to one of the following questions. All answers are found on this blog.
- Name two of the other blogs in the Coryan Network?
- What was the OFFICIAL launch date for Blogging Startup?
- What is domain for the blog that took me 11 minutes and 5 seconds to create?
- What is the APADLAAPP?
- When did I publish the post, “Hi, My Name is Jim and I’m a Blogger…”?
And one last way to enter. Complete the following brief paragraph. It should only take a sentence or two. Oh, and don’t assume it’s an easy task. There is a bit of a puzzle involved. Once you’ve figured it out, send me a message with your answer. All correct answers will earn 10 entries.

If you subscribe, post on your blog, or add BS to your blogroll, be sure to leave a comment on this post letting me know. However, the answers to the five questions and the puzzle should be sent to my through the Blogging Startup comment page. We don’t want to give away the answers.
Finally, all individuals who accumulate at least 15 points will be listed in the prize announcement post with links to their blogs. The contest ends on March 14th. The winner will be randomly drawn from all entries, so even one comment could make you a winner.

Wow this is really a well thought out contest. It’s nice to see one that isn’t another apple product, though i would like to have one ;). But is instead a product related to the audiance of the blog. It’s just really well done. Kudo’s on the good example!

I just discovered your site and think it’s great. I do not have a blog as of now, but am determined to have one by the end of this week. Right now I’m just stumbling around in the dark trying to decide where to do the start up. If I start up with one place, and as I acquire a little more experience, will it be a difficult process to change over to another host? All kinds of questions, but I AM a blogger at heart and WILL become a blogger in fact.

Looks like a really great contest Jim. I love the idea of awarding points for various actions. I just have one question before entering… What is this blog you’re giving away? I really think that you should go into some details about the prize to encourage entries.
